Short Bio
Zhizhen Zhong received his Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University in July 2019, advised by Prof. Yanhe Li and Prof. Xiaoping Zheng. He was a visiting scholar at the University of California Davis in 2018, advised by Prof. Biswanath Mukherjee and Prof. Massimo Tornatore. He received the Bachelor's Degree of Engineering and the secondary Bachelor's Degree of Economics from Tsinghua University in 2014 and 2016, respectively.
His research lies in the general area of computer networking, with a special focus on physical-layer optical networking, resource allocation and optimization.
His awards include the Zijing-Scholar Fellowship from Tsinghua University in 2019, the 1st Place Best Poster Award (1 out of 600+ posters) on IEEE CLEO-PR/OECC/PGC conference from IEEE Photonics Society in 2017, the Tang Lixin Scholarship from Tsinghua University in 2016.
★ Highlights
Note: the Lightpath Splitting technique introduced in this paper could help network operators to enlarge network capacity elastically by selectively reconfiguring IP-layer topology and edge capacity (modulation) and fight the unprecedented traffic spikes during COVID-19 without deploying new network gears.
